Britt's Corner - What it's like Working at the Shop

Britt's Corner

Hi, everyone!

For those of you who don’t know me yet, my name is Brittney Barsi, and I’m the Assistant Manager at Assembly.

I joined the team after graduating from UWSP in the spring of 2019 with a degree in marketing, as well as, a minor in Spanish.

Just for funsies, I’ll throw in a few of my favorite things to do in my free time. Believe it or not, I LOVE musky fishing! My dad and I go up north almost every weekend during the summer. While I’m up north, I also enjoy water skiing and cross-country skiing – honestly, just put me on skis and I’m good. About once a year, I try to go on a big trip. My grandparents are big believers in travel and its benefits, so I was fortunate to be able to go on quite a few trips with them growing up. My favorite places we’ve been to are Hungary, Germany, and Italy!

Since Assembly’s opening in 2016, I’ve been a consistent supporter and friend of the shop. I admired Quyen’s vision for Stevens Point and always felt like I was shopping with a friend when I visited her at the shop.

A month before graduation, I decided to send in my resume and cover letter, hoping for a marketing role within the shop. A week or so later, I was offered the position of Marketing Manager!

Over the next few months, I started forming relationships with our regulars. I love seeing familiar faces and catching up, as well as, meeting new people and showing them around the shop. I truly believe there is something here for everyone.

Behind the scenes, I began taking on more responsibility. I researched brands and pieces I would like to see in the shop and passed my suggestions on to Quyen. I was heavily involved in our scholarship and allocating funds to the scholarship and its funding, so we could continue to spread the good.

A few other tasks that I take on are: newsletters, social media content, community sponsorships, and event and sale planning.

Over these past few months, I’ve really felt like Quyen’s right hand woman in the shop. My day-to-day tasks are changing, but I still maintain my marketing focus, which leads me to announce my promotion to Assistant Manager!

See ya in the shop!
